During the last years I was asked three times to guide graduate students and Huisman personnel which were following an education. This gave me the opportunity to improve my soft skills as well. I enjoyed working with the students, especially because I could combine it with my work as engineer.
The results of the graduate students were tested and with good results the designs or solutions were later on used in actual projects. One example of a design of a graduate student was a pneumatic buffer of a cylinder. After the graduation, the detailed design and testing was done, and due to the good results, the new pneumatic buffer was used instead of the older (more complicated) buffer in several projects.
